Prospectus

A. ATOMIC ENERGY EDUCATION SOCIETY  

Atomic Energy Central Schools are run and managed by Atomic Energy Education Society, an Autonomous Body, under the Department of Atomic Energy. The Governing Council of the Society consists of members who are senior Officers and Scientists of the Department of  Atomic Energy.

At present the Society is running schools at Mumbai , Tarapur ( Maharastra), Hyderabad & Manuguru (A.P.) Jaduguda, Narwapahar (Jharkhand) Turamdih, ,Narora (U.P.),Kakrapara (Gujarat), OSCOM (Orissa) , Indore (M.P.), Rawatbhata (Rajasthan), Kalpakkam, Anupuram, (Tamilnadu),& Kaiga, Mysore (Karnataka).

PREPARATORY CLASSES:  
The AEES has adopted administrating pre-preparatory and preparatory classes from the academic year 2001-2002. Well qualified and experienced teachers have been recruited for this purpose.

TALENT NURTURE PROGRAMME: 
Under the Talent nurtures programme the AEES had made a policy decision to extend free educational facilities to economically backward, bright tribal children of the neighbouring villages. Accordingly, the AEES, Manuguru has been adopting bright children every year by admitting them in Class-I from 2000 onwards. These children are provided with free text books, note books, uniform and monthly scholarship.

B.GENERAL INFORMATION: 
AEC Schools aim at giving an overall development to meet the future challenges.

AEC Schools have classes Pre- Preparatory to Class X to prepare the students for the All India Secondary School  Education conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

In Mumbai and Tarapur classes XI-XII are affiliated to the Maharastra State of Secondry Education, Mumbai. In Hyderabad classes XI-XII are affiliated to the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh.

B. ACADEMIC YEAR
The academic year begins on 1st April,  2012 and concludes on 31st  March, 2013.

C. SCHOOL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
AEC School at Manuguru has the School Advisory Committee for guidance and co-ordination.

D. MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:
The medium of instruction is in ENGLISH in all AEC Schools. Jaduguda  (Jharkhand ), Rawatbhata (Rajasthan) have Hindi medium also.

E. ADMISSION RULES:
1. Birth Certificate:
For fresh admission to classes Pre-prep, Prep & Class - I,  Birth certificate should be obtained from a competent authority. i.e., Village Mukhia or Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat and to be counter signed by the Revenue / Panchayat Gazetted Officer of the concerned area.

2. Transfer Certificate:
Those seeking new admission as well as those coming on transfer from Central School will have to produce a valid School Leaving Certificate from the school last attended.  In case that is not an Atomic Energy Central School, the certificate should be endorsed by the District Educational Officer of the district or the Asst. Commissioner, KVS as the case may be.

3. Non-DAE Category:
Admission to the children of Non-DAE category in AECS/AEJC is not automatic.  Such admission will be decided by AEES on the basis of purely on merit. Applications will be issued for such children during Feb & March only.

4. Age:
A pupil seeking admission in Class Pre-Preparatory in 2012 should complete 3 years of age on 30-04-2012.

A student will not be admitted to the Secondary School Certificate Examination unless he / she completes the age of 14 on 30th March of the year in which he / she is due to appear for examination.  This being an essential requirement, the age of admission in the Atomic Energy Central Schools is regulated as indicated below.

Fee Waivers and Concessions:

01.       All girl students and students belonging to SC/ST categories of DAE and Non-DAE are exempted
            from paying tuition fee.

Tution Fee and PUVV Nidhi will be charged for all the 12 months.  Those students of AECSchool joining in mid session will pay the fee from the month in which they are admitted provided they paid fee in the previous school.

All the dues must be cleared by 10th Nov, 2012

  1. The Class Teachers will collect the fee on first three collection days as per the dates specified and issue the receipt to the pupils. After the due date, the fees will be paid with fine in the office and collect the receipts.

Common Uniform for the students:

With a view to bring about uniformity of school uniforms in all schools of AEES, the following dress code is followed:

For Classes I to VIII:

a) Boys      : White shirt, grey short, navy blue socks and white canvas and black
leather shoes, Navy blue neck tie with light blue stribes(diagonal), Navy blue canvas belt             
with a  Bras Buckle with the school emblem, no sash, no shoulder flaps.
b) Girls      : White blouse, grey tunic, navy blue socks and white canvas and black
leather shoes, Navy blue neck tie with light blue stripes(diagonal), Navy blue canvas belt             
with a  Bras Buckle with the school emblem, no sash, no shoulder flaps.

For classes IX to X:
 
a) Boys      : White shirt (without shoulder flaps), grey trouser, Navy blue neck tie with light blue             
                     stripes(diagonal), Navy blue canvas belt with a  Bras Buckle with the school emblem.
b) Girls      :   White salwar, grey Kurta (without shoulder flaps),  white dupatta, Navy blue socks, white
                     canvas and black leather shoes.
Note:

  1. White uniform is recommended for 2 days in a week – Wednesday and Saturday.
  2. During winter months, navy blue sweater is to be used.
  3. Bathroom Slippers are not allowed.

LIBRARY:

  1. Pupils of classes IV to XII will have access to books, periodicals, magazines and newspapers in the library.
  2. Pupils of class I to V will follow the class library system.
  3. Students are expected to maintain library manners i.e., they should not underline the words or write any remarks in the book.  If the student loses any book, the cost of the book is recovered.

Laboratory:

a)   The school provides well equipped science laboratories where students of classes IX, X, XI, and XII are required to do practical experiments.
b)   In laboratories students of classes from  VI- VIII are also permitted to do practical experiments under the guidance of teachers.
c)   Students must handle scientific apparatus and chemicals with extreme care and should strictly follow the instructions given to them by the teachers .Strict discipline should be maintained in the laboratory.
d)   In case of any damage to the apparatus or other laboratory appliances or furniture will be recovered from the student.

Games and sports / CCA  :
a)   All the students are expected to take an active part in Physical education, Games and sports and CCA organized  in the school.
b)   Competitions in games and sports and CCA will be held on the basis of House system.
c)   Prefects or Monitors will be selected  by the Class Teacher or House Master. They will assist  the P.E.T. and CCA committee in organizing these activities.

N C C:

a)   To inculcate discipline and foster the spirit of national integration in students,  boys and girls are inducted into the NCC.
b)   50 boys and 50 girls are enrolled for NCC from class VII to IX and trained to appear for the  ‘A’ Certificate Examination every year.
