History

The AECS, Manuguru was started on 17 July, 1984 with the primary section, from classes I to V. The classes started on 19.07.1984.  In the initial stages the strength of the school was 42 with class   strength between 5 – 15.The school had about nine staff members, of them 05 primary teachers, 01 clerk and 03 peons. Out of the 5 primary teachers, one teacher was on regular basis, one honorary teacher (wife of then, Chairman, LMC) and 3 teachers on adhoc-basis.  The school was run in the present primary building. The school did not have an auditorium or any play ground. It used  the open air theatre of the  colony located near old ‘B’ type quarter. As there was no proper play ground, only open the space besides the primary building was used as the play ground. In those days the school had no library but one news paper –The  Hindu  was  a subscribed for the staff which used to come a day late. The school was headed by a Vice-Principal, Shri.V.S.R.Murthy. The school had a bulletin Board maintained by the staff members with articles from The Hindu paper like know your English, News, General Knowledge and news from science world were displayed.

The  classes for VI, VII & VIII were started during the 1985 – 1986 session with a strength of 147 students and 18 staff members, which included 12 PRTs and 06 TGTs and later on 01 PET and 01 Electrical Gadget Teacher was added along with the regular appointment of a Junior Librarian.

  By the academic year 1986 – 1987 the student’s strength had increased to 282 with IX Class being added.  During 1987-88 we had the first batch of Class-X of CBSE. In the same year on 15.09.1988 the secondary school building started functioning. At this time the total strength was around 344 students with 28 staff members. The Secondary School Building housed Classes from VI to X and the old building had the primary wing from classes I to V.

In the year 1987 – 1988 academic session was the first batch of 08 students appeared for class X CBSE Board Examination during the March-1988 and the result was 100 %.

By the year 1989-90 we had the first batch of Class-XII students appearing for CBSE+2 wing with science stream. In the year 1993-94 the school strength had increased to 1105 with 58 teaching staff and 09 non-teaching staff.

During the academic session of 1995-96 an important event in the history of AECS, Manuguru took place.  This year we switched on to the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh at the Junior College level more children to join professional and technical courses.  The first batch of IPE appeared in March, 1997 with a total strength of 11 children representing the Science stream.  Because of increase in number of classes and the school strength crossing the 1500 mark the secondary building was extended with the second floor and was inaugurated on 18.07.1998. By this time the school was fully established both the primary and secondary had a full fledged library each.  The secondary also had the facilities of Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Laboratories.

The primary and secondary schools are bestowed with a central auditorium/assembly hall, which are generally used for the morning assembly and other CCA Activities.  The Sports room in the secondary building with some gym facilities.

By 1999-2000 the students strength was increased to 1640 with 88 staff members who included 71 teaching staff and 17 non-teaching staff.

Library: The secondary school library was stated on 14th Sept 1985 (as mentioned in the library register) with Shri: B.S.Vijay Kumar as Jr librarian.

Computer Lab: The computer education started in secondary division during the academic session 1999-2000 with 11 Pentium II new systems and 05 Pentium I old systems. These 05 old systems were up graded to Pentium II later on .During 2002 the computer lab was enriched by the addition of 06 new P II systems. New thirteen P. IV systems were added during 2007 and last year, i.e. 2008, AEES has presented us with 23 new P.IV systems. During 2008 14 systems had been shifted from Secondary School to Primary building to enable the primary children also to get knowledge of computers.

Prep-Classes: Preparatory Classes was started during-2001 with five preparatory teachers in two shifts.  By 2002-03 Pre-Preparatory classes were started in the Primary School Building.
