Activities

 

Hindi Saptah Celebrations-
The department of Hindi organized special programmes from 8th  September to 14th September commemorating the Hindi Saptah (week).A slew of activities were organized by the department of Hindi for the students. All through the week a faculty member spoke in the assembly in Hindi.On the valedictory function day the Hindi officer from HWP(M) Shri    Shri Syed Masoom Raza,  was invited as the chief guest. He gave away the prizes to students who performed well in the competitions.

27th Annual Day, A Cultural Fiesta
The school organized a gala programme on the 28th of January, 2011 in the RWS Kalavedika as part of the 27th Annual Day celebrations. The Chief Guest for this celebration was the honourable Secretary, AEES, Dr.Ashok Kumar, the Guest of Honour was  Sri M.Venugopal, Chairman LMC,AECS(M),CGM,HWP(M). Smt Achala Ashok Kumar gave away the prizes to the Academic and the CCA prize winners. The students from the primary and secondary schools presented a colourful cultural programme with a right mixture of song, dance and drama. The best performing CCA house from the primary school was bagged by the Green house and from the Secondary school it was the Red house.

Sri ALN.Rao Felicitated
The Chairman and Chief Executive of HWB,and formerly Chairman LMC,AECS(M) was felicitated by the Principal and the staff members on 22nd March, 2011, on his retirement on superannuation. Speaking on this occasion Sri Rao reminiscenced the time his children had spent  at AECS(M).The Principal Sri.G.Ramchander Goud felicitated him and his better half,Smt.Lakshmi in the traditional Telugu way with the nadaswaram and vedic hymns playing in the background.

 So long Farewell……
Sri.M.Venugopal, formerly Chairman LMC,AECS(M) & CGM,HWP(M) was bid farewell on his voluntary retirement from active service on 29th March,2011in the high school auditorium. Speaking on the occasion the Principal observed that Sri Venugopal had provided yeoman service to the needy and the disadvantaged by spearheading the ‘Sphoorthi Foundation’.

Sri K.R.Rao,PGT Chem and Sri Asim Chakraborty,PGT Physics were given a warm farewell on 25th April as they were posted to AECS Jaduguda.

Smt. Ranjani Rajgopal, TGT, Comp, was posted to AECS 2 Hyderabad and she was bid farewell on  30th April. Later Dr.GKR.Mishra ,PGT Hindi was also bid farewell on his posting to AECS Jaduguda.

A Hearty Welcome:
AECS Manuguru extends a a warm welcome to Shri Rajneesh Prakash,CE,Heavy Water Board who took charge and is at present at the helm of affairs of the board at Mumbai.We convey our heartiest greetings and wish him success in all his endeavors.

Sri.C.Seshasai GM, HWP (M) and Chairman LMC, AECS (M) took charge this year. We are very honoured to have him as the Chairman of the LMC.
We extend a warm welcome to him and sincerely hope that under his stewardship the school will achieve greater heights and glories.
Smt. Anila Singh Charak, Principal joined the AECS(M) family as the Principal, Regional Academic Cell in the month of July this year. The school welcomes her and hopes her stay here will be fruitful and eventful.

Calligraphy Workshop
A Calligraphy workshop was conducted by Sri.D.Dixit in the school from 14th April to 5th May 2011 in the first semester. On 6th May special prizes were distributed to students by the Principal. In the second semester the workshop was conducted from 29th Oct to 29th Nov 2011.Students who showed a remarkable improvement were congratulated and given prizes in the morning assembly by the Principal Sri.G.Ramchander Goud.

Identifying Children With Different Needs
A very important task that a teacher performs apart from imparting knowledge is to identify and help children who require special attention. With this in mind three faculty members from the school attended an orientation programme for teachers from the South Zone  at the All India Institute Of Speech & Hearing, Mysore between 9th May and 20th May 2011. The team included Smt.P.Rani, Headmistress, Sri.Raja Reddy and Ms.Ramani, PRTs. The services that these faculty members can render will be very valuable and important.

 Science Exhibition-Igniting Young Minds
The school level Science,Mathematics,Social Science and Teaching aids exhibition was held on 1st  July,2011 .The General manager of HWP (M),
 Sri C.Seshasai inaugurated it. It was open for the parents and the public  to see how children exhibited not only their interest and curiosity in the things around them but also how they presented and explained details of  their exhibits to the visitors. Providing such opportunities is indeed an important task of the school.
Last year G.Sushmitha & T.S Vasantha Lakshmi 10th C and PVSN.Chaitanya and Afshahanaz,10th A, secured the third prize in the All India Inter AECS/AEJC Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Teaching aids Exhibition,2010 held at Kudankulam for their exhibit-Multi Functional Solar Elevator.
Later in the year the same exhibit bagged the first position in the District level Science Fair held at Khammam. It was later exhibited in the State Level Exhibition too and received accolades.

 

UKIERI- International educational exchange continues…
A two member delegation of teachers from Durham Johnston and Bowburn school Durham, the UK, visited the school for a day as part of the exchange programme. They were taken around the school and short cultural programme was presented to them by the students.

Investiture Ceremony 2011
More than 50 students received their colours and insignia on 28th July from the Deputy General Manager, ES, HWP(M) , Shri D.C.Shrivastav in the investiture ceremony held on 28th July this year. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest reminded the young leaders that the school was providing them with a number of opportunities to transform   into able citizens and leaders of tomorrow and school was indeed a training ground for them.

 

Teachers’ Day 2011-Guru Devobhava

A special function aws organized in the High school auditorium on 5th September to mark Teachers’ Day .Children of class 10 tasted a bit of teaching as they took on the responsibility of teaching for three periods on that day. Later, the Chairman LMC,Sri C.Seshasai and Sri S.Sundaresan,Executive Director,Heavy Water Board, formerly Chairman LMC,felicitated three teachers-Smt.Bharati Madhu,PGT Maths,            Smt M.Padmavathi,TGT Eng/S.St and Sri B.Janardan,librarian,for having completed 25 years of service in AEES.This was followed by a luncheon for the teachers with the guests.

Science Quiz in Hindi, Quizzing in our National language
The Akhil BharatiyaParamanu Urja Antar Vidyalayeen Vigyan Prashna Manch Pratiyogita-2011 South zone Quiz competition was concucted at AECS Mysore in which B.S.R.Venumadhav & Aditya Singh of 10th C stood first this qualified them to participate in the finals at BARC in Mumbai on the 11th of November this year. Our students  bagged the first prize in the finals beating OSCOM from the East Zone, Tarapur from theWest and Indore from the North .It was a momentous achievement both for the students and the school.

Educational Tour 2011:
When young children are provided an opportunity to travel and visit places learning becomes fun and the memories of their interaction with new places and people are forever etched in their minds. With this end in view the students of class 10 were taken on an educational tour to Vishakhapatnam and to the Arakku Valley on the 10th & 11th of November,2011. Some places worth mentioning from  their tour was the submarine at the Vishakhapatnam beach and the Burra caves in the Arakku Valley. In the caves students could actually touch and feel  stalactites and the stalagmites, they walked through the underground caves and saw the various rock formations caused due to erosion            
( erosional features) which they had hitherto only studied in their text books.

Visiting an old age home-15th August :It was a very fitting way to celebrate the Independence day when students of class 10, on this day had an opportunity to visit an old age home and interview the inmates, senior citizens, who were left as destitute on the streets by their kith and kin. This visit was undertaken in connection with an MCB unit ‘Health & Medicine’ in English. The stark reality surely would have sensitized them towards this unfortunate growing trend. The students were accompanied by their language teachers and the Principal and the Vice Principal.

Young artists & their master strokes:
The Ministry of Water Resources, Governmentt of Andhra Pradesh conducted a state level painting  competition on 14th  November at  Hyderabad. Sanjay Bhargav of 5th A, secured a consolation prize of Rs1000 along with a gift hamper. He was one among the 85,000 children who had  participated in this contest.
